Cancer, also called malignancy, is characterized by an abnormal growth of cells. There are more than 100 types of cancer, including breast cancer, skin cancer, lung cancer, colon cancer, prostate cancer, and lymphoma.Cancer symptoms vary widely based on the type of cancer. Cancer treatment includes chemotherapy, radiation, and surgery. If you’re considering complementary treatments for cancer, discuss this with your doctor as they may interact with other cancer treatment.

    This is a very limiting definition of cancer. One can say it is 100 diseases (actually more like 2,000) – or that it is one disease with 2,000 different manifestations.

    As for telling your conventional doctor that you are taking complementary therapies (Laugh) – don’t tell them you’re doing something really alternative – they’ll go bananas. But having studied and written on the subject of cancer (my wife died of cancer but I don’t intend to if I can avoid it.) I can tell you that there are many alternative approaches that are worth considering.
